Rookery** can be rented separately from
The Gallery.
Ascend the
out-of-doors stairway to the spacious oak shaded veranda to reach
The Rookery, This tree top hide-a-way offers
guests a cozy atmosphere with stylish flair. Guests enter the
kitchen (featuring a large fresco of a heron in the cane), and
move on into a spacious sitting/bedroom area. A most unique bath,
featuring a setting sun stained glass in the shower and old doors
to separate facilities is located adjacent the bedroom.

The Rookery features a bird's eye view of a virgin
pine forest and The Gallery Garden, featuring
colorful mosaic collages of tile and lush plant life.
The Rookery can accommodate as many as six, but is also a cozy getaway for two.
Connected
by inside stairs, The Gallery and The
Rookery work well together for groups of 12 to 14.

The veranda
Guests at
The Gallery and The Rookery
are welcome to enjoy the long ambling "Lost Dog Walk"
pier, that winds its way over the waters of Caddo, through a stand
of giant, moss-shrouded Cypress to the Taylor Island stretch of
the old river channel. (See amenities page.)
Outdoor cooking, bicycles, and canoes are provided for guests
**A rookery is an established nesting spot for birds. In the rookeries of Caddo, herons, egrets and cormorants nest together, but on different levels in the hosting cypress stands.
Rates are the
same as all of the Spatterdock Guest Houses.
